BACKHAUL

CONNECTING THE EDGE TO THE CORE WITHOUT THE COST OF WIRES
In a hierarchical network the backhaul segment of the network is the link between the core network, or backbone network, and the subnetworks at the edge of the network.

This is one of the most critical links in the network, it is the link that ties all the applications and services at the edge to the core - a link where performance, uptime and quality of service combine to guarantee data delivery.

To add capacity to any network, wireless technology provides a flexible and scalable alternative to fiber or leased lines without the associated annual costs.

Proxim Wireless' high-capacity backhaul solutions enable wireless and wire line service providers to meet their customers growing needs for bandwidth.

Quick and easy to deploy, the Proxim Tsunami'® wireless solutions provide secure voice and data connections that are scalable, secure, offer carrier-class reliability and are unaffected by harsh environmental conditions.

Wireless Backhaul Advantages:
  • Reduce OPEX by eliminating fiber and leased line costs
  • Rapid cost effective deployment
  • Easily scales to growing traffic demands
  • Carrier-class reliability - 99.999% uptime
  • Overcome challenging environmental barriers to a wired network installation

Backhaul Applications

  • Video Surveillance Backhaul
  • Last Mile Aggregation to Internet
  • Connect Remote Offices to Datacenter
  • Add Critical Link Redundancy

Typical Backhaul Deployments

Proxim WORP® delivers a network able to support hundreds of data streams prioritized to ensure efficient throughput for voice, video and data. This exceptional performance, a result of the most sophisticated wireless QoS available, plus the double layer encryption native to WORP® guarantees the highest level of security and best possible performance.

Endorsements

"Proxim's equipment has stood the proof of time. The performance has always been reliable and consistent in any sort of weather and the performance/price ratio is unmatched. We are also pleased with the after sales technical support services and local support offered by Axiome Services. Based on the performance, we are looking to further upgrade our network with Proxim's latest generation products."
Michel Rosier | Director of IT services, Community of Les Lilas, Paris
"Having a unified network infrastructure is imperative to our operations. To match our high standards and mission critical applications, we needed a network solution that delivers reliably at all times. We conduct a thorough battery of tests and found Proxim's equipment to be a good fit."
Engineer Mohannad Hennawi | NAFFCO
"Since the migration over to the Vale Wireless WAN there has been a huge improvement in both Internet connection speeds and network speeds. The speed improvements have made all school internet applications run a lot faster and both teachers and students have commented that browsing the internet is a lot faster and more consistent"
St Cyres School
"Until our Proxim wireless network was deployed, our school had been experiencing extremely slow internet connections due to our high bandwidth usage by other applications. This made streaming videos (e.g. YouTube) unusable, even general surfing was becoming a problem. Since moving to the new wireless WAN this is no longer a problem. We now have a very fast connection and can see a noticeable difference. We are very happy with the new connection."
Stanwell School
"Altitude Infrastructure works with France's regional authorities to explore alternative network solutions, while avoiding a new digital divide and maintaining a policy of fair and equitable development. Proxim's equipment allows us to achieve an optimal infrastructure for both urban as well as rural areas." said Fabrice Ballart, Vice President of Altitude Infrastructure "We are going to further unwire and expand our networks using Proxim's solutions"
"We evaluated Redline, Radwin and Cambium. We felt Proxim offered the best mix of price, build quality and ease of remote administration." - Paul Astle (TNP Project Manager) "The previous network took over five years to deploy, on the other hand, deploying Proxim's equipment was very easy and we only took 7 months from design to deployment".
