With the mammoth responsibility of dispensing education across the country, the MoE (Ministry of Education) of the Kingdom of Bahrain offers several centers for knowledge and libraries to provide easy access of education to its citizens. As a part of this “easy access“initiative, the ministry decided to provide electronic access of its eleven libraries to the multitudes of schools present in the country. The requirement constituted of connecting all its libraries in a unified network that subsequently connects to the schools. However, on evaluating the commercials of the project, the MoE soon realized that implementing a cable or a wire based network would be not just time consuming, cost-prohibitive but also a very un-scalable implementation, keeping in mind of their future initiatives and plans.

The MoE then turned to BATEC- Bahrain Advanced Technology, a leading Value added ICT (Information Communication & Technology) solutions provider for connecting its various libraries in a reliable, cost effective and quickly deployable solution. The new wireless solution constituting of eleven links currently serves and connects the eleven libraries to a central base station unit that subsequently connects to the internet cloud, resulting in a future-proof, cost-effective, reliable network that was deployed in a matter of weeks.
