Circumnavigate Geographical Barriers
The Challenge
Even in the most populated and urbanized areas, geographical elements
can present a problem for connecting networks and providing cellular backhaul
to a central site. Rivers and foothills are regular features in cities
across the world. In order to provide consistent service on both sides
of an obstacle, service providers must find an affordable connection –
and leased lines are both expensive and complicated to install.
The Solution
Just as wireless backhaul equipment makes an affordable solution for traversing
inhospitable climates, wireless provides a fast and cost-effective solution
for overcoming specific geographical obstacles. Wireless point-to-point
systems can cost less than 1/3rd what it would cost to trench fiber across
a river or less than 1/10th to cross a foothill range. This technology
by definition neatly avoids the complication and delays of getting public
works permission for digging in rivers and mountains.
