Proxim’s high capacity, 802.11n AP Devices support Wireless Distribution System (WDS) that helps you establish a wireless communication between two AP Devices or two Basic Service Sets (BSS), thus allowing you to extend the WLAN or access point coverage to wide areas.

Allows wireless interconnection between Orinoco Access points. It enables network deployments to expand without the use of a wired backbone, thereby allowing a network administrator to expand the network effortlessly. In other words WDS helps to establish a wireless link between two access points and allows the client stations of one AP to communicate with the clients of the other AP network. WDS is extremely beneficial in places where it is difficult to use wired Ethernet to relay the packets between the networks.

Typical to any indoor environment, there exist a plethora of wifi and non wifi devices ranging from neighboring radios to personal devices such as Bluetooth. Not to mention commonly present non wifi devices such as motors, microwaves, elevators etc that function in the same frequency range as a wireless 802.11 radio. All the devices accrue to a significant amount of inference and consequently degrade the performance of a wireless radio.

Automatic channel Selection: An indispensible installation tool, the adaptive channel feature allows Proxim’s radios to determine the best channel with the least inference and automatically select the same while booting.

The cell size feature allows a user to control and customize the coverage area of radio. This feature is extremely useful in scenarios with dense radio presence, where it helps to minimize the interference caused by one radio on another.
