Proxim Wireless Introduces Its Tsunami® QB-62000 Multi-Gigabit Wireless Backhaul Solution
The Tsunami QuickBridge 62000 Enables Multi-Gigabit Wireless Backhaul With the Smallest Point-to-Point Ethernet Bridge on the Market |
SILICON VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 19, 2012) - Proxim Wireless Corporation (PINKSHEETS: PRXM), a
leading provider of outdoor wireless backhaul systems, announced the launch of its Tsunami® QB-62000
product, a multi-gigabit addition to Proxim's comprehensive portfolio of reliable, secure and easilydeployed wireless backhaul solutions.
The Tsunami QB-62000 product offers high capacity, extremely reliable and cost-effective point-to-point
(PtP) wireless backhaul solutions at rates of 1Gbps full duplex providing a total throughput of 2Gbps.
This multi-Gigabit wireless backhaul equipment exceeds 4G cell site speed requirements making it one
of the highest capacity wireless links available.
The QB-62000 product is a layer 2 bridge solution designed using state-of-the-art components making it
the smallest unit on the market. The tight integration of its elements, including an integrated antenna,
reduces the size of the device to 7 square inches, which can easily be integrated into typical picocell
enclosures. Weighing only 2.5Kgs, with extremely small wind loading, the Tsunami® QB-62000 can be
installed almost anywhere -- light poles, monopoles and more.
"At Proxim, we focus not only on technologically superior products but also on products that are easy
for our customers to use. So, we're very pleased to launch the smallest 60GHz wireless point-to-point
Ethernet bridge on the market," explained Lee Gopadze, President and CEO of Proxim Wireless. "Our
QB-62000 products will provide substantial real-world benefits to our customers over competitive
solutions because it literally fits in the palm of your hand. Its small size will enable our customers to
quickly and easily install QB-62000 products in more locations than competitive products, allowing more
flexibility in network planning. Further, its 60 GHz operation requires no licensing fees that can delay
standard deployments which eases installations around the globe."
The Tsunami QB-62000 product requires a single Ethernet cable to provide power and data connectivity
with cabling up to 100 meters long. Furthermore, it is fully manageable via the Web GUI interface and
additional supporting protocols such as SNMPv3.
This new product enables a more efficient and reliable wireless backhaul network delivery service. Its
reduced footprint, efficient design, and state-of-the-art technology ensures delivery of high-speed
connectivity solutions within the most compact unit in the industry.
