Altitude Infrastructure Extends Partnership with Proxim Wireless For High Capacity Wireless Deployments
|
Silicon Valley, CA (August 15, 2012) – Proxim Wireless Corporation (OTC Markets:
PRXM), a leading provider of complete outdoor wireless backhaul systems, today
announced the extension of its partnership with Altitude Infrastructure, a leader in the
regional digital development throughout France.
Altitude Infrastructure has been a main contributor in the French telecom market over
the last 10 years helping regional authorities to explore, develop and construct telecom
networks. They currently provide the network infrastructure in 19 regions throughout
France which includes the largest deployment of WiMAX technology to date. This
position has been achieved due to the company’s “savoir faire” in deploying both
wireless and fiber technologies.
Proxim Wireless was initially chosen by Altitude Infrastructure in 2007 for the
deployment of Proxim’s Point-to-Point Tsunami® QB11 product range. More recently,
the increasing demand for additional bandwidth led to the migration from the Tsunami
QB11 to the Tsunami QB8150 for existing and future wireless deployments. The
Tsunami QB8150 product range uses the latest wireless technology by providing secure
high-capacity wireless transmission coupled with OFDM and MiMO functionality often
required by telecom operators. The product range is perfectly adapted for the outdoor
environment (IP67), and the radios can be deployed and configured rapidly resulting in
substantial cost savings compared to other technologies.
“Altitude Infrastructure works with France’s regional authorities to explore alternative
network solutions while avoiding a new digital divide and maintaining a policy of fair and
equitable development,” said Fabrice Ballart, Vice President of Altitude Infrastructure.
“Proxim’s equipment allows us to achieve an optimal infrastructure for both urban as
well as rural areas.”
“We are delighted about the extension of our alliance with Altitude Infrastructure for the
deployment of their high capacity networks in France. Their technical requirements are
of an extremely high standard and we are pleased that they have selected, once again,
a Proxim solution due to the capacity, ease of deployment and functionality offered by
the Tsunami QB8150 product range.” said Simon Snowdon, Director Commercial of
Proxim in France
