Position:Channel Manager Eastern Region
The Channel Manager will be responsible for driving channel growth through partner recruitment, training and managing relationships with US resellers and distributors. Success will be measured in increase in overall partner sales. This position reports to the Director, Channel Marketing and Management.

Responsibilities:
Engage directly with the Distribution, Partners and Proxim account teams in these areas of focus to drive increase in U.S. channel business through execution of joint marketing plans with Proxim distribution partners, resellers and VARS
- Lead activities to improve Partner Sales team’s product awareness. Ensure sales certifications are maintained/achieved as per tier requirements.
- Manage channel partners in assigned territory in support of overall sales objectives including all aspects of account management - inventory levels, account reporting, backlog management, co-op administration.
- Opportunity Engagement – Ensure that partner and Proxim sales teams are connected to increase awareness of partner accounts and identify engagement points for new opportunities
- Ensure partners are aware of available tools and competent in their use. Develop monthly channel forecast.
- Marketing/Lead Gen – Create, coordinate and oversee partner activities. Events planning will include focus on ROI, compliance with stated requirements, messaging to audience and target audience appropriateness. Coordination will be to engage appropriate resources (Corp/Field) to support the event in planning and presentation materials/speakers.
- Ensure follow up plans are established and completed and communicated to the team
- Work with the partner technical organizations to ensure certification achievements and continuity as per the partner level. This will include technical cert renewals as necessary
- Identify and recruit new partners that will assist in achieving Proxim’s sales goals
- Develop and execute training programs as needed to ensure that partners are knowledgeable and adequately trained to sell products
- Travel up to 60%
- Compensation is 75% salary and 25% commission
Requirements:
- 3 or more years experience in working with networking and/or wireless channel partners
- 3 or more years of related sales or marketing experience with networking and/or wireless products.
- New territory development experience with sales and channel partners.
- Strong analytical skills required
- BS/BA degree required; MBA desirable
